- Follow social media in Finnish and see what is being discussed and how. What kind of language and expressions are used?
- For example, read a news item in your own language first and then read the same in Finnish.
- Read the same text with someone else. Both of you pick out what you think are the most important words in the text on a piece of paper. Then go through the words together.
- Read texts in parts: First, read the headlines and look at the pictures in the text. Then read the whole text. You can also outline on paper the parts of the text: What is said first? What comes next? What is said last?
